Host Club: Cherokee Town and Country Club
Cherokee Town and Country Club has a strong history of supporting amateur golf, hosting numerous GSGA and USGA events. In addition to regularly hosting the GSGA Annual Meeting and Georgia State Golf Foundation’s Scholars Luncheon, Cherokee has hosted a number of competitions, including two Georgia Amateur Championships (1973, 2001), two Atlanta Amateur Championships (1963, 1982), the 1986 Billy Peters Cup and the 2006 Georgia Senior Championship. It was also the site of the 1999 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship.
Cherokee’s director of golf is Mark Mongell and the superintendent is Tony Mancuso. The Pro Shop phone number is (770) 993-4407. Directions to the club: GA 400 N. to Exit 6/Northridge Road. Follow Northridge Road west to Roswell Road. Turn right to Hightower Trail, turn left to club at dead end.
