Blood Assurance seeks donors

Blood Assurance began a new promotion today to generate awareness of the constant need for blood donations.

Now through Nov. 28, visitors at any area Blood Assurance or blood drive can register to win one of eight $100 Cracker Barrel gift cards.

Donors will also receive a complimentary “Thankful” Thanksgiving themed t-shirt. The artwork was designed by a child at Chattanooga State Technical Community College’s Child Development Center, where a recent contest was held. The winning artwork was selected by a panel of area judges, including Rick Youngblood, Blood Assurance President and CEO, Trish Black, senior donor recruiter, and Jed Mescon from WRCB in Chattanooga.

As the only regional blood center in the area, Blood Assurance is responsible for providing blood products to all hospitals and healthcare facilities in the region.

Blood Assurance locations are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 pm. on Saturdays. Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. There is no upper age restriction for donating blood. For a location near you or to locate a bloodmobile in your area, please call 1-800-962-0628 or visit www.bloodassurance.org.
