Shaw products featured in Southern Living Idea Houses

Submitted by Shaw Industries

Shaw floors were selected for both 2009 Southern Living Idea Houses. One home, featured in the Reynolds Signature Community of Achasta in Dahlonega, utilized Shaw carpet, hardwood, and tile and stone — and even featured Shaw hardwood on the walls of the retreat area. The 2009 Southern Living Idea House on Mustang Island in Texas’ new Cinnamon Shore community is full of Shaw’s Anso nylon carpet.

The Dahlonega home’s interior design was completed by Mallory Mathison, Inc. Mathison selected Shaw’s Fremont solid hand-scraped hardwood flooring in a deep chocolate tone named Legacy, an Anso nylon room-size cut and bound area rug from the popular Savvy Spaces collection and several of the company’s Glass Expressions tiles to give the home an eclectic yet relaxed look. The home also featured Shaw’s Loft tile throughout the family room and children’s bath as well as an Shaw’s Anderson Hardwood Virginia Vintage handscraped planks for the flooring and walls of the loft retreat.

“Shaw participates in projects like the Southern Living ideas houses in order to reach our targeted consumer in an inspirational and unique setting,” said Reggie Newton, Shaw’s vice president of marketing. “Thousands of consumers tour the Southern Living show homes for ideas and product recommendations, and we receive a very large volume of calls about the products featured in the homes. The idea houses allow Shaw to deliver educated, ready-to-purchase consumers to Shaw retailers.”

The 2009 Southern Living Idea House in Dahlonega is open to the public for tours throughout December. Tickets are $5 at the door and a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales benefit the local United Way of Dahlonega/Lumpkin County.

The 2009 Southern Living Idea House on Texas’s Mustang Island in the new Cinnamon Shore community is open to the public through Sept. 27 and tickets are $5 at the door. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Port Aransas Education Foundation.
