Businesses team with MDA

Area businesses have banned together with the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) to help children and adults in the local area with Muscular Dystrophy. With St. Patrick’s Day quickly approaching, community-conscious vendors are participating in the “Shamrocks Against Dystrophy” Program.

The “Shamrock Against Dystrophy” program is designed to allow participants to purchase a Green Shamrock for $1, or a Gold Shamrock for $5 at any participating store. By purchasing a Shamrock, participants will have their name displayed at the area business, while at the same time, helping to supply the much-needed funds that aid families in Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia.

Please patronize the following Merchants in your community who help “Jerry’s Kids”: Lowe’s, Kroger, Ingles, Captain D’s, Pit Stop, Save-A-Lot, Pilot, and Burger King

Schools include: Gordon Lee High School, Graysville Elementary, and Lakeview High School.

When you buy a Shamrock your contributions help local children attend MDA Summer Camp for “Jerry’s Kids,” receive medical assistance with wheelchairs and braces, and benefit from medical research aimed at eliminating Muscular Dystrophy.

MDA is a dedicated partnership between scientists and concerned citizens aimed at conquering neuromuscular disease that affect more than one million Americans. Programs available through the Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia Chapter of MDA are funded almost entirely by individual and corporate contributions. The Association receives no government grants; United Way funds or fees from the people it serves or their families.
