Store robbery suspect wanted

Dalton police are looking for a man who robbed two convenience stores Tuesday night.

The first robbery happened at MapCo at 400 N. Glenwood Ave. around 8:30 p.m when the man went into the store, grabbed the clerk and demanded money, according to Detective Nathan Lee with the Dalton Police Department. The clerk was not hurt.

Lee believes the same man robbed the MapCo at 1128 S. Thornton Ave. at around 11:30 p.m. In that robbery, the man had a paper bag over his hand and appeared to have a gun and demanded cash, Lee said. The clerk did not see a gun and was not hurt, he said.

In both cases, the man took an undetermined amount of cash and police are not sure how he got away.

“No one saw a car,” Lee said. “As far as we know, he was on foot.”

Pictures of the man were caught on the stores’ surveillance cameras. The man is described as dark skinned male, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall; between 25 and 35 years old and weighing between 150 and 175 pounds. The man wore sunglasses during both robberies.
