The Whitfield County Republican Party will host a “Get to Know the Candidates” forum involving GOP Board of Commissioners District 2 candidates Harold Brooker and Karen Horne tonight at 7 in the administrative building at 214 W. King St. in Dalton. The meeting is open to the public.

Soul Food is a free dinner ministry of First Baptist Church of Dalton serving all in the community who need a hot, nutritious meal. The church will offer this event today in the fellowship hall on the corner of Waugh Street and Thornton Avenue.
Dinner will be served from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

There will be an organizational meeting for the Scottish Society of Northwest Georgia tonight at 7 at the Western Sizzlin steakhouse on Cleveland Highway in Dalton.

The Highland Rivers Community Service Board will meet this morning at 10 in the Harris Arts Center at 212 S. Wall St. in Calhoun. The meeting is open to the public. The Executive, Finance and Corporate Compliance Committees will meet at 9 a.m.
Highland Rivers Center offers treatment and support services for adults and children affected by mental health disorders, developmental disabilities and addictive diseases. The agency serves Bartow, Cherokee, Fannin, Floyd, Gilmer, Gordon, Murray, Paulding, Pickens, Polk and Whitfield counties, and provides addictive disease services to citizens of Haralson County.
