Thomas named to health care study committee

ATLANTA — State Sen. Don Thomas, R-Dalton, has been appointed to the Georgia Senate Study Committee on Healthcare Transformation by Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle. The Healthcare Transformation Study Committee is responsible for creating and perfecting policy to help make health care and health insurance more accessible and affordable for every Georgian.
“Sen. Thomas will be a valuable asset to the health care study committee,” said Cagle. “He is dedicated to his constituents and has worked diligently in the state Senate. I look forward to learning more about the findings of the Healthcare Transformation Study Committee.”
Thomas serves as chairman of the Health and Human Services Committee and is also a member of the Education and Youth and Ethics committees. Thomas was elected to the Georgia Senate in 1996.
“Sen. Thomas has shown that he’s very knowledgeable when it comes to health care reform,” said President Pro Tem Eric Johnson, R-Savannah. “He has a solid track record in the Senate and I am confident that he will be an asset to this important study committee.”
