The city of Eton’s Pickin’ at the Pavilion will be tonight at 6.

The event is usually held on the fourth Saturday of the month but is being held the third Saturday this month to try to increase participation from area musicians.



The Whitfield-Murray Historical Society is sponsoring an indoor flea market at the Old Spring Place Methodist Church today opening at 7:30 a.m. Proceeds will go toward the preservation of the historic building, including the repainting of the exterior later this summer.

The sale features all sorts of household, children's and collectible items (no clothing).



Dr. Emily Felker will be on hand at Tractor Supply in Chatsworth on July 26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to administer rabies vaccinations for $15. This will be a three-year vaccination for dogs and cats over one year old, a one-year vaccination for pets under one year old. Other vaccinations such as parvo/distemper and bordetella as well as heartworm checks will be available for an additional cost.



The Whitfield County Board of Commissioners will host a work session and meeting on Monday beginning at 6 p.m. The meetings will be in administrative building No. 2 at 214 W. King St. They are open to the public.



The Board of Water, Light & Sinking Fund Commissioners, which governs Dalton Utilities, meets Monday at noon in the utility’s board room.

The board is scheduled to hear the CEO’s report and to hold an executive session. There will be time for public comments and questions.
