Toys for Tots Ride set for Dec. 5

The Marine Corps League, in conjunction with U.S. military veterans and the Dalton Motorcycle Club, is sponsoring a Toys for Tots Ride for motorcycles on Saturday, Dec. 5, beginning at 1 p.m. at the Walmart Super Center at 815 Shugart Road. The entry fee is $10 or a new, unwrapped toy for any motorcyclist interested in riding, whether a veteran or not.

The approximate 15-mile ride will depart Walmart and head south to Walnut Avenue, go west to College Drive, then north to U.S. Highway 41. From there the tour will go south on Old Lafayette Road (Highway 201) and finish 7.5 miles later at the military vets clubhouse at 2147 Lafayette Highway.

“All the toys collected that day will stay in Whitfield and Murray counties,” said Marine vet Anthony Wimberly. For more information contact Wimberly at (706) 537-8795.
