Walnut Square Mall hosting food drive, party for children

Walnut Square Mall will host the annual Christmas Dreams Food Drive on Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the CVS entrance.

Christmas Dreams provides food and presents to children and seniors through the Whitfield County Department of Family and Children Services. Anyone dropping off three or more canned/nonperishable food items will be entered to win a Carmike Cinema annual movie pass for two valued at $800. The mall will host a pajamas party for children age 12 and under featuring Santa Claus on Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. Activities include a holiday craft, coloring, a pajamas parade, giveaways and a dance performance by Starmaker Talent. Children will also receive discounts from Chick-fil-A and Sbarro.

“We are happy to be doing something that is fun for the children and the parents, and hope to make this event a tradition at Walnut Square,” said Jessica Cantrell, mall marketing secretary.
