Eugene R. Stafford

Eugene R. Stafford, 76, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2009, in Tallahassee, Fla. A “Gathering of Friends” will be held Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Culley’s Timberlane Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road (850-893-4177).

Mr. Stafford was born July 15, 1932, in Pickens County, Ga., and has lived in Tallahassee the past 25 years. He worked for the Department of Adult and Community Education for the state of Florida for many years. Eugene was an avid reader, a history buff and loved nature.

Eugene is survived by his wife, Sarah J. (Harmon) Stafford; sons, Michael, Perry Sr. and Keith Stafford; a daughter, Lynette Berry; a brother, Bill (Mary) Stafford; sisters, Peggy (Roger) Marcine and Jane (Ron) Summey; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oran and Bernice (Murphy) Stafford; one son, Leslie Stafford; and one brother, Jimmy Stafford.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorial contributions be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Road, Tallahassee, FL 32308.
