Police: CSU student set off explosives on campus

COLUMBUS, Ga. (AP) — A 21-year-old student has been arrested after homemade explosives were detonated on the main campus of Columbus State University.

University police arrested Caleb Miles Miller of Mauk, Ga. in connection with the two incidents.

He faces counts of possession of tools for a crime, possession/manufacture of a destructive device and a count of possession of destructive device with intent to intimidate or destroy a public building.

The arrest was reported by the Columbus Ledger Enquirer on Wednesday.

No one was injured and no property was damaged beyond the charring of the ground around the detonation site in both incidents.

The most recent incident was reported on the morning of Sept. 26. CSU police were told an apparent homemade “firecracker” had exploded with a loud blast near a parking lot.
