Calhoun police investigating bank robbery

Submitted by Calhoun Police Department

On Monday at approximately 3:55 p.m. Calhoun police were called to Georgia Bank & Trust at 135 W.C. Bryant Parkway in response to an armed robbery, Police Chief Garry Moss said. Officers arrived within minutes of receiving the call and were told a white male had entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money. The subject then produced a handgun and advised the teller not to bring any attention to him or he would start shooting. The teller complied with his demands and the subject left on foot with an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.

The offender is described as a white male, average height and slight build, with short brown hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt, camouflage shorts and lace up boots; he appeared to have a lanyard around his neck with a bar code tag attached to it.

Calhoun Police are asking anyone with information to contact the criminal investigation division at (706) 602-5755.
