Renewal registration for corporations

ATLANTA Secretary of State Karen Handel today reminded officers and registered agents of Georgia corporate entities that the deadline to renew registrations with the Corporations Division is Tuesday, April 1.
Georgia law requires corporations, limited liability companies and limited partnerships to file annual renewals with the Secretary of States Office and pay a renewal fee of $30. Business entities that are not renewed will be administratively dissolved.
The Secretary of States Corporations Division maintains a searchable database of companies registered with the Division. Annual renewals ensure that the database has the most current information.
Corporate entities in arrears on annual registration fees can remit payment by mail or online at www.georgiacorporations.org. Payments by mail or at the Corporations Division office can be made by check or money order only. Absolutely no cash is accepted for payment of registration fees.
Some entities may not have received notices because they have moved their location and their records have not been updated in the Corporations Division database. One of the purposes of filing the Annual Registration is to maintain current information on officers, registered agents and the principal mailing address. Managers unsure of an entitys status should visit the Corporations Division website and search for their company by name or control number. If the status is Active/Noncompliant or Active/Owes Current Year AR the entity likely owes Annual Registration fees.
Over 726,000 corporate entities are registered with the Corporations Division, including over 667,000 in-state and 59,000 out-of-state corporations.
