DPD advises avoiding roads

The Dalton Police Department is advising motorists to use extreme caution while driving tonight and Friday morning.

The department sent out two messages through its Twitter account tonight.

"Road conditions are getting worse in Dalton with snow and ice all over town. Please avoid driving tonight if possible."

"If you MUST drive, please drive slowly. Leave extra distance to stop. Beware of patches of ice on roadways."
