Accidents abound in Whitfield County

Whitfield County crews were working about 30 minor car accidents tonight caused by slippery roads from the snow and ice.

There were no serious injuries reported.

Jeffrey Putnam, director of Whitfield County Emergency Services, said at 8:30 p.m. there was "lots of ice" on the roads throughout Whitfield County. He said it was widespread, but added that especially slick spots were on I-75 at the Carbondale Road exit, Maple Grove Road and Ridge Road.

"It's bad out there," Putnam said.
