Man arrested for making threats at Georgia college
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. (AP) — A 20-year-old man was arrested after claiming to have a gun and threatening students at Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville.
College spokeswoman Judy Bailey tells The Telegraph in Macon that a man claiming to have a gun was intimidating students around 4:30 a.m. Friday.
Bailey says 20-year-old Holden Ferner, who is not a student at the college, was arrested around 5:30 a.m.
She says Ferner faces charges of making terroristic threats and underage possession of alcohol. No weapon was recovered.
The college sent out text and phone messages telling students to stay inside with doors locked. Another message was sent after Ferner’s arrest.
Bailey says few students were confronted because of the hour.
