Martin Luther Donaldson
Martin Luther Donaldson, 73, of Tunnel Hill entered into rest Friday evening, May 15, 2009, at the local hospital with his soul mate and beloved wife of 48 years, Jeannette “Jan” Donaldson by his side.
Luther was born June 19, 1935, in McCurtain County, Okla., a son of the late Columbus “Lum” and Clara Henshew Donaldson. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Charles Mowry, and a brother, Wayne Donaldson.
Luther was a truck driver and carpet layer by trade and was retired from General Felt Industries.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his son, Keith Donaldson of Tunnel Hill; daughter, Jan Mowry; grandchildren, Marisa Butler and her husband, Derek, and Nicholle Mowry; sister-in-law, Sue Donaldson, all of Dalton; brothers-in-law, Wilmer Pittman of Nashville, Tenn., William Pittman of Tunnel Hill and Wilford Pittman of Dalton; several nieces and nephews.
Luther was a very private person, and in keeping with his wishes there will be no memorial services to mark his passing.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations by made to the American Cancer Society, 300 W. Emery St., Suite 106, Dalton, GA 30721, (706) 278-1960, in memory of Mr. Martin Luther Donaldson.
