Gordon Hospital hosts Dinner with Doctors
Submitted by Gordon Hospital
CALHOUN —For most people, breathing just comes naturally. But for hundreds of Americans, every single life-sustaining breath can be a struggle.
Walking up a flight of stairs leaves many people panting for air, while just getting out of bed is a struggle for others. Some lung conditions may be relatively mild, caused by the flu or a bad chest cold, but other breathing problems can be very serious and limit the quality of one’s life, according to Suzette Chin, MD, of Respiratory Consultants of Georgia.
“There are many different causes for pulmonary - or lung - problems,” Dr. Chin explained, “and there are many different treatment options available today,”
To help educate the public about pulmonary issues, Gordon Hospital is hosting a Dinner with the Doctors event, Pulmonary Potpourri, on Thursday, December 3 with Dr. Chin. The dinner will begin at 6 p.m. in the hospital’s Conference Room E. While the dinner is free, registration is required due to space limitations. Please call 706-879-4732 or email [email protected] to register. Anyone interested in learning more about lung issues is encouraged to attend.
Dr. Chin is an expert in pulmonary, critical care, and internal medicine with a focus on lung sarcoidosis (an inflammation occurring in the lungs), pulmonary rehabilitation, interstitial lung diseases (an inflammatory lung disorder characterized by abnormal formation of fibrous tissue between the tiny air sacs or ducts of the lungs), and pulmonary vascular disease. Dr. Chin performed extensive research in sarcoidosis as a pulmonary fellow and received the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research award from the American Thoracic Society.
Respiratory Consultants of Georgia, located at 100 Hospital Court, Suite 2 on the Gordon Hospital campus, is a full-service pulmonary practice staffed with experienced and knowledgeable physicians committed to personalized care and quality service that meets the goals and exceeds expectations of their patients.
