Jamie Jones: Kennedy blaming Kennedy for 'boot'

By Jamie Jones
[email protected]

My bad. That’s essentially Mr. Kennedy’s summation of why WWE officials booted him from the company earlier this year.

He claims a series of interviews with a British tabloid about steroid use “set in motion a chain of events” that led to his ouster. Kennedy was once one of WWE’s brightest stars, but injuries — and his mouth — sealed his fate.

“I left myself open,” Kennedy wrote on his blog. “Vince McMahon didn’t screw ‘Mr. Kennedy.’ WWE didn’t screw ‘Mr. Kennedy.’

“Ken Anderson screwed ‘Mr. Kennedy.’”

Want to know the behind-the-scenes workings of D-Generation X? You’ll soon get a chance.

WWE announcer Jim Ross wrote on his blog that the company will release a book on the controversial group this fall. Ross has written some stories about Chyna, The Road Dogg, Shawn Michaels, Triple H and friends.

“I did some writing work on an upcoming book about DX that really brought back some memories from years gone by and not all of them were pleasant ones,” Ross wrote on his blog, jrsbarbq.com.

WWE released The Brian Kendrick this week.

The Local Corner: “Car Wars” is coming to TWA. On August 14 and 15, fans will watch an innovative match involving a car, a ring and wrestlers.

In matches last Friday night: Standard Wrestling Guy defeated Christian Michaels; Roger Foster and Rocky Star beat the Gas Boys; Joey Idol beat Jeremy Murphy; Team Kill downed True Perfection.

TWA runs Fridays at 8 p.m. in the TWA Arena off Reed Road in north Whitfield County, about three miles north of the bypass. The Action Zone runs Saturdays at 8 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for kids 6 to 12. Kids under 6 are free. Any military member with proper identification will be admitted free.

Trivia Teaser: Diamond Dallas Page managed this tag team when joined WCW.

Check back next week for the answer.

Last week’s question: Who was the last wrestler to hold the cruiserweight title under the WCW banner?

Shane Helms.

Jamie Jones thinks Shaquille O’Neal should retire and become the full-time “Raw” general manger.
