Published June 17, 2009 11:28 am - Catoosa County commissioners pick company to develop industrial park Mark Andrews, Catoosa County News Catoosa commissioners on Tuesday tentatively hired a company to oversee development of its industrial park site on Ga. 151.
The five-member county commission, during a regular meeting Tuesday night, voted unanimously to a joint venture with Panattoni Development Co., a California-based engi-neering and development firm with an office in Atlanta. The joint venture, which is pending final approval of contract details, may allow for the county to get a percentage of profit if the businesses that Panattoni bring to the site do well. The 51-acre industrial park is at Holcomb Road and Ga. 151. “We want to be clear that we are very selective on the businesses coming into Catoosa County,” Board of Commissioners chairman Keith Greene said. Commissioner Ken Marks said he was “very impressed” with Panattoni, adding that the county wants “clean companies” at the industrial park. He said the commission plans to develop a list of local companies to propose to Panattoni. “We’re going to perform our own due diligence when it comes to the contract,” Marks said. “And we’re going to give the first opportunities to businesses in the county.”
