Dalton High's Brown helps Ga. win Sunbelt title

Team Georgia, a select team of juniors, shellacked Texas, 21-2, on Wednesday to capture the 2009 Junior Sunbelt Classic baseball tournament in McAlester, Okla.

Dalton High’s Stryker Brown had a run-scoring single in Georgia’s 12-run third inning that gave the Peach State squad a 13-1 lead. Brown scored twice in the inning.

The championship game ended after five innings due to the “mercy rule.”

Georgia went through the six-day tournament unbeaten and outscored six opponents by a whopping 68-12 margin.
