Dolphins made big splash last weekend

The Dalton Dolphins’ swim team won the state title in five events at last weekend’s Georgia Recreation and Parks Association’s Class “A” state meet in Carrollton.

Joana Rosales and Rebecca Davis led the way with two titles, with Rosales winning the girls 15-18-year-old 100 yard individual medley with a time of 1:02.66 seconds, and the 50-yard backstroke (28.94).

Davis won the 15-18 50 freestyle (26.04) and 50 breaststroke (33.47).

Others winning titles were Taylor Dale (13-14 50 backstroke, 27.03) and the 14-under 200 medley relay team of Dale, Hunter Mulkey, Charles Jones and Ricardo Chavez (1:47.36).
